T-Mobile completa la compra de Sprint para lo que será “El Nuevo T-Mobile”

Era cuestión de tiempo. T-Mobile oficialmente compra a Sprint. La fusión fue completada hoy tras finalizar asuntos legales, entre otros. El anuncio de compra fue hace dos años atrás y desde entonces ambas compañías han pasado por un proceso de escrutinio por parte de las diferentes agencias.

Tal y como habíamos reportado, la fusión se completaría hoy y John Legere, el hasta ahora entonces CEO de T-Mobile, dejará su cargo. A partir de junio de este año, el que han llamado “el nuevo T-Mobile” estará a cargo de Mike Sievert, según reporta The Verge. Sievert había servido para la compañía como COO.

Por su parte, la presencia de Legere se sintió enormemente desde que tomó las riendas de T-Mobile en el 2012. Para ese entonces la Empresa Magenta estaba en una distante y fría cuarta posición dentro de las compañías de celulares en Estados Unidos. Hoy, ya son dueña de Sprint y se colocan entre los primeros para competir mejor de tú a tú con Verizon y ATT.
